What's Next for The New York Times?

Has the New York Times lost its spot at the top of the media pyramid? The recent scandals took away credibility among peers and made it fodder for late-night comics. Can the Gray Lady regain the trust of the media and the public? Panelists Syd Schanberg, former Times reporter and author of "The Killing Fields," Susan Tifft, co-author of the definitive book on the Times, "The Trust," Seth Mnookin of Newsweek and Simon Dumenco of New York, Folio and Details discuss the extent of the damage and what the Times must do now.

There will be adequate Q&A time following the discussion.

Speakers include:
Syd Schanberg, former New York Times reporter and author of "The Killing Fields"
Seth Mnookin, senior writer, Newsweek
Simon Dumenco, editor-at-large at New York Magazine, "The Glossies" columnist at Folio:, and contributing editor at Details
Susan Tifft, a professor of public policy studies and journalism at Duke University and co-author of "The Trust: The Private and Powerful Family Behind The New York Times"

Moderated by freelance writer Laura Rich (Wired, New York, Family Circle, Cosmopolitan, New York Post). Laura Rich is also the author of the Paul Allen biography "The Accidental Zillionaire," and previously an editor and columnist at The Industry Standard, Adweek, Inside Media.
